Studies have shown that people have to be more health conscious now than ever before. This is because of the rise in the number of individuals who are either overweight or obese and this will continue to grow if drastic steps are not taken.
A lot of dieting programs have been invented to curb this problem. It focuses on one of the three essential things needed by the body such as carbohydrates, fat or protein while cutting down on the others.
Anyone who will undergo a dietary program doesn???t have to necessarily give up some of the favorite foods. This can still be consumed but in moderation.
One thing that people should always have is fish. This is because it doesn???t have that much saturated fat compared to eating meat and studies have shown that the oil produced from these creatures can help anyone lose weight.
Why is it only now that scientists believe this can help a person lose weight? This is because fish oil has been tested to stop breast cancer from spreading to different parts of the body, prevent sunburn and age related macular degeneration otherwise known as dry eye syndrome.
This is due to the fact that fish oil has Omega 3 fatty acids that regulate the body???s sugar levels, which is known to keep hunger at bay.
Fish oil has two out of three known Omega fatty acids. These are namely Docosahexaenoic acid or DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid or EPA.?? When these are absorbed into the body, studies have shown that this increases the individual???s metabolic rate enabling it to burn off more calories.
The person can get fish oil from a variety of species such as albacore tuna, herring, lake trout, mackerel, salmon and sardines. If the individual is more of a vegetarian, green vegetables can be consumed instead such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, dark salad leaves and seaweed.
If the individual is unable to get the right amounts of Omega 3 fatty acids in the food being consumed, there is no need to worry. There are also vitamin supplements that can be purchased which also have this as one of its ingredients.
Having fish oil as part of the diet is a great way to start making some lifestyle changes. This is because it can help prevent certain cancers or heart disease from happening by lowering the patient???s cholesterol levels back to normal.
The first step in any dietary program is easy. The challenging part is maintaining it because eating alone will not make those excess pounds go away.
This should be combined then with an exercise program that suits the person???s lifestyle. A few examples of activities that can be done at home are brisk walking, riding a bike or jogging.
If doing it alone is not easy, then perhaps it is time to enroll in a gym since there are qualified trainers who are there to ensure that the individual can lose weight.
Before engaging in a diet or exercise program, the person should at least consult with a physician. This specialist will make sure that any activity that will be done is safe for someone at that age and weight.
Fish oil can do wonders and help anyone lose weight. The individual should not expect to get the same results as another person because the results of eating and working out may be different.
