Negative Calorie is an Oxymoron

???What is your most memorable drunken experience???? When you are asked that question, will you be able to answer it? Is that possible? Can you recall what you did on the night you got totally wasted?
Another oxymoron is ???negative calories.??? Are there foods out there that really contain absolutely zero calories? Reviewing what we learned from our science in our grade school days, every food has energy because of the carbohydrates, protein or fat that they contain. These are macronutrients that provide energy.
Now ???negative calorie??? are foods that have a slightly smaller amount of energy making the body use more energy in absorbing and digesting the nutrients they absorb. When an person eats a negative calorie food, then there are less calories in his body. If he keeps on eating food that has negative calorie, there is an assurance that he can lose weight.
Some dieticians do not believe in the negative calorie diet. They think that the energy used is equal to the meal that had been digested. Simply put, the energy a body exerts to chew digest the food eaten is the general percentage that specific food actually gives off. That is why they regard negative calorie foods as non-existent.
But there is an exemption to the rule. Celery has a negative energy intake. However this is due to the fact that the body???s digestive system exerts more effort to get the energy celery contains.
Because of these stated fact, negative calorie may just be an oxymoron. But then back to the question imposed in the first paragraph presented in the first paragraph, some people can answer it. Meaning, they can still remember some details of their drunken night. Which brings us to negative calories. There are foods that have less calorie as opposed to most. But for it to be contain absolutely no calorie at all, more research upon the matter must be conducted.
One thing is for sure: people who eat foods that are listed under ???negative calorie??? consume less calories. That is why those who are losing weight are encouraged to check out the negative calorie foods list.
Just because you want to lose weight does not mean that you would be disregarding a balanced diet. Dieters are encouraged to eat healthier foods and lessen their intake of sweets and junk food, but they are also advised to not skip meals.
Eat fruits (apricot, melon cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew melon, black currant, plums, strawberry, grapefruit, damsons, rhubarb, blackberry, mandarin orange, lemon, tangerine, clementines, peaches, raspberry, guava) and vegetables (asparagus, broccoli, carrots, turnip, spinach, peppers, fennel, leek, marrow, cucumber, chicory, cauliflower, gourd, aubergine, lettuce, cabbage, radish, celery, cress, tomato) containing negative calories.
Of course, there are still other foods containing negative calorie that can be made into a full meal. A dieter can consider eating the following:
Dried or boiled beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, canderel sweetener, low fat cottage cheese, any white, fresh or poached fish, low fat fromage frais, lemon, gineger ale, orange juice, lentils, boiled macaroni, low fat mayonnaise, sugar free muesli, boiled noodles, boiled pasta, boiled peas, porridge, boiled potatoes, white rice, brown rice, boiled spaghetti, tofu and fat-free yogurt.
See? Losing weight does not necessarily mean starving yourself like those anorexic teenagers. It also doesn???t mean you???ll throw up after every meal like the bulimic ones. Losing weight is merely engaging in a kind of diet that is right for you. There???s the South Beach diet, the Atkins diet. Not to mention Mariah Carey???s morsels diet. Then there???s the negative calorie diet.
It continues to be an oxymoron though, but who cares? As long as it helps lessen your calorie intake, why not?
